Nature’s Innovation

is my Ocadu graduating thesis that exhibits the cleverness and innovations that wild animals have developed from exploiting the human footprint in order to thrive in proximity to humans. This is a series that shows animals in situations where they have the upper hand on humans.

A mix of creatures have made a house their home. From honeybees in the walls, squirrels in the chimney, raccoons in the attic and snakes underground, humans are being taken advantage of.
Urban Barbados Bullfinch’s are known to steal sugar packets from outdoor cafes.
Raccoons use cat and dog doors to get in and out of houses. Stealing food in broad daylight.
A Weaver Bird’s nest is made up of the hair of a barbie doll.
A Coyote made a graveyard its home and it lives off of the graveyard offerings.
Ants in cities have switched to a diet of hotdogs and fries with no ill effects.

OCADU Illustration Thesis

Thesis is the culminating course where students fully develop a significant body of work in accordance to their approved premise through research and experimentation. Group critiques and one-on-one discussions then helped to further develop the ideas into a cohesive thesis project.
